Painting the Floor
Waking up early and heading right out to the bus we set up the propane heater lent to us by a family friend. With the metal of the bus so cold and the air damp the way it has been lately we hoped the heater could dry things out a bit. The heater was not as effective as we hoped, we needed to slowly move it few feet at a time as we painted our way to the back of the bus. We were able to paint, and it felt so good. Finally, the ugly rusted metal floor has been covered up!
The paint we used was a water based epoxy to protect against rust. I think its still going to take a while to dry, with the weather and temperature we have currently, I doubt it will dry as quick as for others. The are two fans in the bus currently, helping to speed up the process.
This afternoon we headed to home depot to buy supplies for the flooring. We got 15 sheets of 1.5 inch pink foam insulations, 24 2x2x8s, 300 sq ft of moisture barrier plastic, a couple cans of spray foam, and 7 sheets of 5/8 plywood.
