TIny Houses!

I have become absolutely obsessed with the idea of a tiny house. I know I posted here not too long ago about my friend Laird's business building tiny houses, but now this one is all about me and the idea. My partner and I are watching shows like Tiny House Big Living and Tiny Nation everyday, getting inspiration and affirming our belief, tiny living is for us! Everyone says it, I know, but really, we were made for the tiny house lifestyle. After living for months on end in tents, vans, and tiny trailers, we've got the experience. We've even drawn up scaled plans for our tiny house on a 24' gooseneck trailer.
The idea is appealing for so many reasons, and here are the top 5: First, the money you are able to save on rent is incredible, and with a small space, utilities as well are miniscule. Second, there is the ability to move your house. This means you never need to worry about finding accommodation or a lease that fits the lifestyle of moving somewhere for a month, two or six. Third, your ability to put money and attention elsewhere increases. Trips are more affordable when you are not worried about an ongoing lease or having to plan for when you return. Fourth, I can stop trying to live in a van for extended periods and take my 'on the road' life a step more toward comfort and practicality. Lastly, the freedom from possessions is a huge draw. I may not have much that I carry with me while I'm moving around, but I do feel heavy having when I gain items in my life or even have too much space to fill.
One day I'm going tiny, for now though I guess I'll just settle for watching TV shows and day dreaming.
