Electric kool-Aid Acid Test, Tom Wolfe

This book takes you on a historical journey like no other. Far from a dry secondary account of facts learnt only through research Tom Wolfe throughs the reader into the real life of not only Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters but so many more monumental social historical figures. The book follows narrates what is for me one of the most fascinating and inspiring periods of history, in a first person account, walking us through the ending of the Beat Generation, The Span of the LSD Generation, and the beginning of the Hippies. Whether your a fan of Kerouac, The Grateful Dead, Kesey, Magic Bus Further and the Pranksters, Hippies, or anything/anyone in between you need to read this! I ended this wanting more and wanting to have lived it! The books also does an amazing job of presenting all sides of what we think we know about the time. For example, its fun to glorify LSD and focus on the Magic Trip across the US but Wolfe lets us in deeper, introduces us to real people and all their sides, as well, as sharing with us the conflict of 'graduational' ideas and a generation in need of more.
