Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas, Tom Robbins
Tom Robbins does it again; he pulls me into a thick twisting web of narrative with an unexpected twist and turn at every random corner he creates. In describing his novels I find it detracts form their true message by simply re-hashing the story line. His observational ability of a raw and lustful human nature comes through strong in his, at times fantastical, tales. This particular book takes us to rainy Seattle during the market crash and weaves the tale of a confused broker seeking solace and advice from a man already ‘on the pad,’ worshiping amphibians and headed back to Timbuktu. Tom Robbins is most famous for Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (another MUST read) |
